The Golf has become quite a cult icon since it came onto the market in 1974, and since 2002 it’s also been Volkswagens highest selling model. Over the years, and different generations the Golf has become less angular and sharp; more round and tactile. Space meets elegance and unites with power. A whole lot of power! The Mercedes-AMG E63 4MATIC T-Modell is THE classic Mercedes estate car, soon available as a top-of-the-range AMG version. This means you can have a 4.0 litre V8 with matching performance you would expect and up to 612hp delivered to all four wheels. This is due to the fully variable all-wheel drive 4MATIC +, with helps the Mercedes-AMG E63 4Matic T sprint to 100kmph in just 3.5 to 3.6 seconds. That’s as fast as the AMG GT. Just in time for its 50th anniversary, Mercedes-AMG gave us a glimpse into the future at this years Geneva Motor Show, with the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept. It’s been designed to give us an insight into the alternative drive concepts being developed by AMG. We are going to take a closer look at the four-door coupe, to see just what Mercedes AMG could be bringing to us in the not too distant future.
Underneath that sophisticated and elegant exterior, the GT combines the latest V8 petrol engine with a powerful electric motor. Intelligent networking and extremely powerful, light batteries provide a performance hybrid powertrain with a generous electrical range. System capacities of up to 600 kW could be possible. This allows for a driving performance that is truly worthy of the Famous three letters the car bears: it should be able to go from 0-100kmph in less than three seconds.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Concept looks to combine this raw power with high practicality: AMG sportiness but not at a compromise of usability. You can see this at first glance. A pulled down body leading to the well-known Pan Americana grill gives a muscular taught feel to the car. Extremely narrow headlights and a steeply inclined windshield add to feeling; and the extravagant ‘hot red’ paint colour certainly doesn’t hurt the impression. But head around to the rear and you’ll be surprised by just how much useful space is available in the back.
AMG have come up with something very special for those narrow lights: „Nano active fibre technology“ is used for daytime running and rear lights. This results in a three-dimensional light effect, which produces a unique light signature.
At the rear you can see a typical Mercedes-AMG: solid, muscular and wide. The rear carbon diffuser curves downwards at the sides emphasising the effect. The exhaust trim is a little unusual though, centrally aligned reminding you of the Mercedes-AMG GT R. This nod to the past though is beautifully paired with a look at the future which you can’t do using traditional wing mirrors. These have been replaced by miniature cameras which act as mirrors and aid the aerodynamics and visuals of the car.
The wheels feature fine-spoke rims which house AMG ceramic high-performance composite brakes, ready to take on the power of up to 600 kW. The Mercedes-AMG car that will eventually develop from this concept will feature a version of the SLS AMG Electric Drive shown here, finally realizing the driving performance and the pleasure of a super sports car.

I love this sound. The Porsche 911 GT3, probably the most emotional and the most radical new 911 you can buy for money.
Let’s go directly to the most important fact: the fuel consumption. The fuel consumption is up to 12.9 liters! Sorry, little joke! I am just kidding.
Let us talk about the heart. A high-revving 4.0 liter engine – of course a boxer – with the power of 500 horses.

The new Arteon is a five-door Gran Turismo by Volkswagen. It offers five seats and is supposed to combine the design elements of a sports car with the elegance and space of a fastback.
The standard LED headlights merge visually with the wide front grill. This could be the new brand face for some of Volkswagen’s upcoming models, I could well imagine the next VW Touareg to feature a very similar look.

Audi’s RS5 Coupé has been designed to combine stylish looks with classic RS performance, there is a new 2.9l TFSI V6-Biturbo with 450 horsepower. But come on guys, Where’s the V8? Okay, let’s not panic yet, let’s take a look at the V6! A maximum torque of 600 Nm promises a sporty drive, and so do the rest of the numbers: the RS 5 Coupé accelerates from Zero to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds, and can keep going all the way up to 280.
It offers a combined fuel consumption of 8.7 litres for every 100 kilometres driven.
